Biedermeier, eine Epoche des Bürgertums

Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts gab eine Zeitung, die hieß “Fliegende Blätter”. Darin kam eine Person namens Gottlieb Biedermeier vor. Diese Person bezieht sich auf die Lebenskultur des Bürgertums, die in eine beschauliche private Idylle flüchtete. Aber nach den napoleonischen Kriegen hatten die Leute in Deutschland wenig Geld, um sich ihr Heim besonders luxuriös auszustatten. Aus diesem Geldmangel entstand ein ganz eigener Stil. In ihm drückt sich auch das Verlangen nach künstlerischer Schönheit aus. Biedermeier ist fast ausschließlich ein Innenausstattungs- und Möbelstil und heute kann man behaupten, dass Biedermeier alles andere als bieder ist. (more…)
